Cancellation, no-show & safety

Pay is agreed per job and released at the end of the work — same day for a one-day gig, or at the end of each agreed day for longer jobs, unless you and the employer agree otherwise in the chat before starting.

• Employer confirms the work is complete and the final amount.
• Employer sends the money by Mobile Money (MTN, Telecel, AirtelTigo) or bank.
• You confirm “I received my money” in the app — usually within minutes of the transfer.
• Nothing is marked paid on the employer's word alone, and the platform never takes a cut of the worker's pay.

If the money hasn't arrived, tap “I did not receive my money” on the job's payment card. That opens a dispute and our team reviews it within 48 hours.

If a worker cancels

• Cancel in the app as early as you can — before 12 hours there is no penalty.
• Cancelling under 12 hours before the start time is recorded on your profile as a late cancellation.
• Not showing up at all is a no-show: it is shown on your profile, and repeat no-shows lose badges and can be suspended.

If an employer cancels

• Cancelled on the day, after you have already travelled? The employer is expected to pay a half-day of the agreed rate as a call-out fee.
• Cancelled after you've arrived at the job site, before any work started? The employer owes the full day's rate, not just the call-out fee.
• Cancelled part-way through a multi-day job? Every day already worked is paid in full.
• Refusing to settle either of these can be reported from the job page and is handled as a payment dispute.

Riding, construction, and heavy lifting carry real risk. Work Connect Ghana is not an insurer and does not provide cover.

• Agree in the chat, before starting, who covers fuel, damage and any equipment you use.
• If you are hurt on the job, get help first, then report it from the job page so the record is attached to the contract.
• Any day you actually worked before the accident is still owed to you in full.
• Riders: wear a helmet. Employers cannot ask you to ride without one.

• Contact details are shared once the employer accepts you, so you can call before you travel — never share your MoMo PIN with anyone.
• Keep all arrangements in the app chat: it is the evidence in a dispute.
• Tell someone you trust where you are going, and check in with them when you arrive and when you finish.
• If a place or person feels unsafe, leave and report the job — you will not be penalised for leaving an unsafe site.
• Emergency in Ghana: call 112 (police, ambulance, fire).
